Training programs are available for half, full, intermediate 10K, and beginners looking to run their first 5K. We have a great team of over 80 experienced pace leaders and coaches to guide you to your goal race. All participants receive a detailed training plan written by RRCA-certified distance running coaches. DRC training programs are only available to members. Learn more about becoming a member. We welcome runners and run/walkers of all ability levels.

Walking Fitness Group 

The DRC Spring “Walk this Way" program is a 10-week program designed for individuals who have are interested in learn to train in a fun, social, non-competitive atmosphere .  This program will aims to build a walker's endurance to complete a 10k or increase racing distance. This program will begin on August 17th, 2019.. All groups will meet at the DRC clubhouse on Saturdays at 7:00 AM and Tuesdays at 7:15 PM.

5k Training Program

The DRC 5k Program is a 10-week program designed to help new or newly returning runners learn to train and complete a 5k race in a fun, social, non-competitive atmosphere.  We want to educate and encourage new runners to train effectively and adopt a more active lifestyle.  The “Mile 0” program begins with walking, gradually mixes in running, and then builds up to runs of 3 miles or more.   The group runs will help participants stay accountable and motivated by others going through a similar experience.  This program will begin on August 17th. All groups will meet at the DRC clubhouse on Saturdays at 7:00 AM and Tuesdays at 7:15 PM.

10k Training Program
The DRC 10k program is a 10-week program designed for runners who have just completed the 5k training program or who have already completed a 5k. This program will aim at building a runner’s endurance to complete a faster 5k or increase racing distance. This program will begin on August 17th. All groups will meet at the DRC clubhouse on Saturdays at 7:00 AM and Tuesdays at 7:15 PM.

Fall Half Marathon Training

The DRC Fall Half Marathon Program is a  program designed to help new or returning runners learn to train and complete a half marathon.  Participants will do Tuesday and Saturday group runs with DRC pace leaders and Coaches. The first Saturday long run will be August 17th. This training program will target the Dallas Half Marathon in December 2019.. We will do a combination of speed, strength and long distance workouts.  We have groups starting with 1:20 to 2:50+ hour Run/Walk.  . All groups will meet at the DRC clubhouse on Saturdays at 6:00 AM and Tuesdays at 7:00 PM.

Fall Marathon Training

The DRC Fall Marathon Program is a  program designed to help new or returning runners learn to train and complete a marathon.  Participants will do Tuesday and Saturday group runs with DRC pace leaders and Coaches. The first Saturday long run will be August 17th. This training program will target the Dallas Marathon in December 2019.. We will do a combination of speed, strength and long distance workouts.  We have groups starting with 3:10 to 5+ hour Run/Walk.  . All groups will meet at the DRC clubhouse on Saturdays at 6:00 AM and Tuesdays at 7:00 PM.
