Fall “Mile 0” (Beginner Training Program)
The DRC Summer “Mile 0” Program is a 12-week program designed to help new or newly returning runners learn to train and complete a 5k race in a fun, social, non-competitive atmosphere. We want to educate and encourage new runners to train effectively and adopt a more active lifestyle. The “Mile 0” program begins with walking, gradually mixes in running, and then builds up to runs of 3 miles or more. The group runs will help participants stay accountable and motivated by others going through a similar experience. This program will begin on August 20th and end on November 1st. All groups will meet at the DRC clubhouse on Saturdays at 7:00 AM and Tuesdays at 7:15 PM.
Fall “Run 2.0” (Intermediate Training Program)
The DRC Fall “Run 2.0” program is a 12-week program designed for runners who have just completed the “Mile 0” program or who have already completed a 5k. This program will aim at building a runner’s endurance to complete a faster 5k or increase racing distance. This program will begin on August 20th and end on November 1st. All groups will meet at the DRC clubhouse on Saturdays at 7:00 AM and Tuesdays at 7:15 PM.
